The Perfect trio

This painting is finished on 16th July, 2014. just one day before my 25th birthday. I guess, that was my gift to myself, since I have been waiting for months just to start working on this little project of mine.
The original idea came to me in my dream. The dream was about me and my female colleague (who also happens to be a painter) having an exhibition in a mortuary. It was all covered in a pale, blue light which gave it some sort of a freezing/cold atmosphere. As I was walking down the hall, there were three paintings on the wall, but I only focused on one: the middle one. Yes, the painting in the middle is the one from my dream. I remember saying to myself: "Why haven't I thought of this idea", because, in my dream, the painting was not done by me. It was done by my friend. I guess, I was jealous.
I might be one of the most lucky, or the most unlucky (?), people for remembering (almost) all of my dreams. I simply had to paint it. Since I never really saw other two paintings surrounding the middle one, I tried the connect the dream's story and figure our what could they actually portrait.
At that time my mind was, and still is, about how unfair life can be. Not towards me. Towards people, normal, common people and beings in general. Yes, I am talking about this misery we all live in and trying to hide it with nice photographs, fake smiles...while others fest on deaths of many.
The middle figure should resemble a HUMAN. It is an ugly figure, with almost deranged looking skull. With eyes almost popping out, we are trying to see and absorb our environment just to find a way for our own profit and satisfaction. We are even crowning ourselves, giving us titles, proclaiming us gods and creators just to make the fake picture of our simple life. Yes, simple. After all, we are just a DOT on this Pale Blue Dot, yet we act as we are the ones holding it all together.
It is a shame that beings who proclaimed themselves as "higher intelligence" are capable of doing miserable things we are doing to each other; to this place that is giving us that same opportunity to hurt ourselves. It is a shame that a HUMAN would judge you by your skin, by your race, by your looks; just because it has been giving him/her/it a chance. Yes, that is what being a human today means: judge and find something to hate, find a reason to kill, destroy and be a waste of space...because, you are just perfect the way you are (?) and do not try to change yourself (?). Instead of trying to improve ourselves, we are constantly searching for reasons to do the opposite and when we finally do...we blame it on...on somebody else!
That is why on the right side of the human I made a devil. Well, compared to human it is smiling and laughing just like the angel at the left side of us. Laughing at us. We created them so we could justify evil things we to, and downgrade those little good things we have done. Do you believe in Devils and Angels it is really up to you, but at the end of the day it is not someone else you should put the blame on, it is you and it is us. It all comes from us. We can change it, we don't want it. We DO KNOW what can be done, but nobody does it. Why? Because, for some reason, people want more and they want all. Nothing from it will you carry to your grave.
The middle paiting, that I call 'Human' (and my friends call it "black one") I added some of my "greedy hands". If you are not familiar what do those hands represent, you can take a look at the painting below, named "Greedy Hands".
As my friends like to call these paintings "Red-Black-Blue", I have to explain why did I do them mostly in these colors. Well, I did not. On the red-ish one, there is more paint than an eye could tell, of course. Same with the blue one. Human is done with only two colors, because I was blindly trying to follow my dream. That was kinda hard, because it kept fading away. I had to keep my mind on it for 2 and half months, and that was the reason why it was done first.
Red-ish color was picked because of the obvious: Devil - fire - red. Original idea was to make it yellow and golden, but my hatred towards yellow paint out-weighted my wish to do so. Idea for blue one was firstly white, but this contrast seemed better and I feared it would be monotonic next to the Black and White one.

In front of the central figure, there is a small tablet with engraved 'ТИ', which translated to "YOU". Wires, if it can be seen, spreading from the crown are connected with left and right figures' instruments.

When it comes to figures, every has a meaning. Following what my dream said, instrument is there to lure you "into it". At least that is how I remember. With all honesty, I never aimed for some hyper-realistic instruments, so I made cello resemble a human back. Take a look at it. The writing on the left part of cello says:
"Even the God started to cry
when he saw what he crated:
Those evil eyes, that evil soul-
He knew He was mistaken."

The language it is written on is Serbian, Cyrillic:
"И сам Бог је почео да плаче,
када је видио шта је створио:
Те зле очи, ту злу душу-
Знао је да је погријешио."



Here we like to say, eyes are the mirror of your soul....and I believe in it. That is why I said "those evil eyes, that evil soul".
