HomeNews & Events Joining, Submissions & Guidelines Articles Founding Members Members & Affiliates Links & ResourcesWe are currently building our "Links & Resources" section. You can contribute by sending us a note with links to what you consider to be great visionary art websites. They can be sites of particular artists or of community sites. For each link that you send, include a brief description of the website. This will help us to build a network to visionary art sites outside of dA.
All-Art.orgThis site just has everything. You cannot get tired of looking and will always find a new genius, a new artist of your taste, a new chance to decide which formal, emotional way you want to explore. Just all-art. (submitted by mathismondhut)
Beinart Surreal Art CollectiveA comprehensive collection of surreal/fantastic/visionary art that is alive with activity of current artists. This art community site has work from a vast number of world-class artists that you've never heard of. (submitted by turance)
Zdzislaw Beksinski - Official SiteThe Polish visionary genius Beksinski's beautiful site with a thorough collection of his paintings and drawings. His post-apocalyptic love and decay worlds have had prolific influence on a whole generation of polish visionaries. (submitted by turance)
The William Blake Archive The Blake-archives feature a massive body of information and work from the chairman of the visionary lodge. His etchings (Ezekiel, Ecate and others) shed such a powerful light, and the lines and forms may be simple, but their expression can be overhelming.
He received the so called "second-face" when he was around 7 years old when he found the prophet Ezekiel sitting in a meadow, and he talked to him for awhile.
"Some are born to sweet delight, some are born to the endless night..." (submitted by mathismondhut)
Michael Brown - Ten Thousand VisionsA little-known yet awesome American visionary who has worked in Vermont, Costa Rica, and San Diego. He explores incredibly dramatic, dynamic energy transformations along with interesting compositional formats that explode at climactic nexuses. He has painted a series on Tarot symbolism and illustrated snowboards, among other projects. (submitted by turance)
Ernst Fuchs - Official SiteIf you don't know your origin then you don't know yourself. I am happy to live in Austria so I don't have to travel here to see his work. For me, he's the greatest living painter and don't dare to die before you stand before his paintings/drawings/etchings or inside his architecture. (submitted by mathismondhut)
Alex Grey - Official SiteCoSMA powerful visionary/integral artist of our time, Grey's paintings/sculptures integrate mysticism, esotericism from a plethora of traditions, sacred geometry, and scientific understanding of human anatomy (he has professionally illustrated anatomy textbooks). Many of his works are inspired by mystical experiences occasioned by spiritual practice, chiropractic adjustments, and entheogens. He currently works in New York City, and has been leading a spiritual center/community, Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM). Here he hosts monthly talks with spiritual leaders and Full and New Moon ceremonies. The philosopher Ken Wilber wrote "he might be the most significant artist alive." (submitted by turance)
Philip Rubinoc JacobsonMy painting-maestro: since he likes to call me his "kunstler-sohn" I call him my "artistic father." He is one of the deepest human beeings I ever met, and a very important worker in the field of integral art. Please look at his website just because I love him with all of my heart. The Life and art of Mati KlarweinMati Klarwein was such a great painter and man; I think no other visionary painter represented the spirit of the summer of love like Mati. He was the first student of Fuchs in Paris, & before meeting Fuchs he studied with Fedinand Leger.
I suggest starting with his landscapes because they are especially "supra"-natural.
I met Gabriel Barcelo last year; he is around 24 (and also a great painter) and Mati
painted his family. They were neighbors in Deia (Mallorca), so I have an especially close relationship with this man and his art (besides that I am 50% German and my name is also Matthias). Sad that I won't meet him in this life; I guess meeting him would have been a mind expanding adventure of some sort. (submitted by mathismondhut)
De Es Shwertberger - Dome of PeaceThis link should be seen as a journey or meditation about our light and the piercing presence of our awereness. Look at all 100 paintings, meditate on each of them, and just feel the clarity and presence unfolding within you. (submitted by mathismondhut)
Visionary RevueLaurence Caruana edits this journal of visionary art, with mindblowing articles on Ernst Fuchs, Dali, an astonishing collection of contemporary French visionaries, and many others. Here is also Caruana's "First Draft of A Manifesto of Visionary Art," a thorough exploration and summary of the tradition. (submitted by turance)
